What about a newsletter from the church in Mozambique?

I received this interesting proposal from one of the readers. May be he can add more with comments:

Simply because there are instances that he who squeaks correctly receives more support!! Whilst others are not so adapt in marketing skills. It is here where the Synods can play a role as to bring discrepancies to the notice of supporters by means of the Newsletter regarding the various Mission issues. There could be a challenge in this, as not all missionary instances/projects are regarded as falling within the scope of the Synod, i e it is not their project: (Ruvuma?). This control can only work if there is absolute assurance that monies forwarded to the synod is fully distributed to the specific mission project.

I think we have created a problem ourselves by making direct contributions, bypassing the Synod. In the local church the impression could be created, or exists that monetary contributions for mission work ends up in the coffers of the local church, thus "misused".

This is further expanded by visiting Missionaries who supply their own or sending groups banking info. The local church should therefore also have a policy regarding this. This however is a delicate issue as to who may address a congregation. The ministers and Ministry responsible for missions have to be very sensitive of individual requests.

I like this proposal and after waiting for more reactions would like to make mention this to the church in Mozambique.

Another suggestion:

I suggest that we create an account with an independent body, (maybe Ruvuma). The name of this account can be something like: "Where the need is".

Then we publish the account information and purpose of the account to all supporters, and to the IRM. And we also encourage all supporters that get these requests, to rather donate their contribution into this account from where it will be distributed to causes that is agreed upon by both the IRM leadershipa and the executive of Ruvuma, or even the Stewardship Ministry.

I have some questions, but something to think about.
